“UN Cares” unifies UN HIV workplace programs in Mozambique
January 2009 - In May this 2008, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon joined with staff at UN Headquarters in New York to officially launch UN Cares, the UN system-wide workplace programme on HIV/AIDS. This is now being translated into action in Mozambique by the last years establishment of a UN Cares working group.

UNDP Gets Official Recognition for its Contribution to the Bill to Protect HIV-Positive Mozambican Citizens
December 16 - The Mozambican parliament, the Assembly of the Republic, on last Thursday unanimously passed a bill defending the rights of people living with HIV and AIDS, which was formulated with UNDP”s assistance at the technical formulation stages of the legislative process.
In the Provinces of Sofala and Manica FAO supports food security of around 3,000 families
More than 3 million US dollars was the amount spent by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) over the last four years, to strengthen food security for over 3,000 families in need and or affected by HIV/AIDS in the Mozambican provinces of Sofala and Manica.
UN Supported Concert on World AIDS Day - Women against AIDS
In commemoration of World AIDS Day 2008 there is going to be a huge concert featuring Mozambican female artists spreading the message:
"Mais parceiros sexuais, mais risco de HIV! Pare e Pense!" ("More sexual partners, bigger the HIV risk! Stop and Think!")
